Wash and soak dal for atleast 4 hours.
Boil it with enough water and little salt until done.
Dal should be firm yet soft. It should not be too soft or mushy.
In a pan, heat ghee and saute sliced onions along with ginger garlic paste, green chillies and coriander leaves.
Saute until the onions turn translucent.
Add this to the cooked dal.
Mix well and serve hot with chapatis.
